Stan's Idle Hour

Infamous, Notorious, Flagrant and Perfect

Festival Fun

Stan’s Idle Hour is a beach bar that attracts crowds ranging from rowdy college crowds to bikers and everyone in between. Guests can opt to find a place in the sun or hang out at one of the many shaded tables. Stan’s is not where you go for a quiet relaxing afternoon. It’s a festival.

Hours and Menu

Stan’s Idle Hour is open for lunch and dinner Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The menu is heavy on seafood but has enough options to satisfy all tastes. Happy hour — referred to as “Idle Hour” offers beer specials starting at $2 with multiple appetizers for $5.

Sunday Funday

Stan’s Idle Hour is best known for its “Sunday Funday” from 11:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. During that time the outdoor bar is packed with guests enjoying the unique vibe. Live music is the norm and guests are expected to dance the afternoon away in the beautiful Florida sun. There is no better way to cool down afterwards with a beer, Margarita or any of the many other alcoholic beverages available.

Kids are most definitely welcome at Stan’s Idle Hour to join in the fun.

The namesake Stan “The Man” Gober passed away in 2012 and has a bridge named after him in honor of his impact on the community.

Location

Stan’s is located in Goodland. Goodland is known as “the drinking village with a fishing problem.” It’s just a couple miles east of Marco Island on San Marco Road. If you show up on Sunday, you can’t miss it. Park as soon as you see a spot and walk over.

The Sun King’s Review of Stan’s Idle Hour

There’s almost no reason to review Stan’s. It’s famous. It’s notorious, If you haven’t been, you have to go. You really don’t have a choice. Nevertheless, the Sun King knows his subjects expect guidance so here goes. Stan’s may remind you of college parties or concerts in the 80s (Thankfully, everyone has aged just like you have.) It’s big, noisy, and fun. The cops always hang out there for fun and to keep things from boiling over in the rare instance some fool can’t keep it together. Check it out. Have the Buzzard Punch.
