There are actually only two golf courses on Marco Island. The island simply isn’t that big and golf courses take up a lot of space. Any golf nut will find the selection nearby to be more than adequate, though.

The Island Country Club is an 18-hole golf court built to USGA Championship standards and it has been used as a temporary home by various famous golf players. On the other hand, the Hideaway Beach Club is a gated community with luxurious villas that happen to have a beautiful executive golf course in the middle of the development. This 9-hole gem is a great way to enjoy friends and work on your short game. All residents of the community have access to the golf club rental and the 9-hole course. Also, Hideaway Beach is one of the hottest vacation areas on the island.
Less than ten miles from Marco Island, you can find two of Florida’s top golf courses. One is Hammock Bay and the other is Fiddler’s Creek. These courses are offer golf condos and golf course homes, some of which are available for golf vacation rentals.
The Hammock Bay is an 18-hole championship course that will provide you with a beautiful environment surrounded by trees and lakes. There is usually a breeze coming from the Gulf of Mexico that make playing here enjoyable even in the summer. Hammock Bay was designed to take advantage of the natural terrain. The well-manicured fairways and greens will keep you coming back.
Similar to Hammock Bay, the Rookery, located next door in Fiddler’s Creek is similar in that it’s also maintained to perfection. The Rookery is home to various types of birds and other wildlife (even alligators) and it’s chock full of ponds and lakes. Both courses offer an amazing golf vacation possibilities.
Just a couple miles from Hammock Bay and only four miles from Marco Island lies Fiddler’s Creek. The Rookery, as we mentioned, is here along with the Fiddler’s Creek Country Club. The former is part of the JW Marriott Marco Island Beach Resort. It’s impeccably maintained and challenging. The Country Club course is one of Golf Digest’s Top 100 Golf Courses. Every hole is a picturesque, postcard-worthy masterpiece. Although it’s a tremendous golf course, it is much more than that. It’s a residential community filled with golf course homes, golf condos, tennis courts, a swimming complex, and many more. Very few golf resorts are in the same class in southwest Florida or the world.

If golfing is the first activity on your vacation list, you’ll probably want to rent a unit in some of the golf condos or golf course homes located near Hideaway Bay Club or Fiddler’s Creek.
