Davide Italian Cafe prepares classic Italian dishes created by the namesake owner Davide, a native of Milan, Italy. His mother was a culinary instructor so he is a natural for the restaurant business.
Davide owns the restaurant with his wife who strives to prepare food as if it was made by an Italian grandmother.
The restaurant offers a relaxing atmosphere in a cafe style environment that welcomes everyone. A selection of European cafe options is served in the morning as of 10:30 a.m. The restaurant stays open through 9:30 p.m.
The menu is classic Italian all the way. Prices are reasonable for an authentic Italian dining experience with Panini sandwiches starting at $9.95 and 13-inch pizzas at $15.95. Veal or Chicken dishes start at $21.95 and is served with linguine pasta on the side.
Italian food is not complete without some fine wine and Davide Italian Cafe doesn’t disappoint. Multiple wines are available for purchase by the glass with many more available by the bottle, including several premium Italian vintages. A selection of domestic and imported beers are available, including Italian brands.
Davide is located at the intersection of Collier Blvd and Bald Eagle Drive in the newly renovated Island Plaza. This is the same shopping center that is home to the CVS and Bealls Outlet store. It’s convenient to your rental property anywhere on the island.
One time a waiter (not at Davide) once asked the Sun King if he was ready for the “sinful conclusion.” Flabbergasted, the Sun King summarily rejected the proposition. Thankfully, it turned out the waiter was only referring to dessert. Ever since then, the Sun King will only refer to dessert himself as the “sinful conclusion.”
Davide’s dessert menu offers Italian favorites like Tiramisu, Cannoli, and Gelatos.
The sad truth is the Sun King has been to Davide twice. Neither time was that great. They weren’t bad – just not what he hoped. We have some really good Italian restaurants on Marco Island and the Sun King usually goes to Ciao Bella or La Tavola. For pizza, he goes to Italian Deli.
The staff at Davide is friendly. The atmosphere is nice and cozy. Their Google ratings and Trip Advisor ratings are great. The Sun King’s rating is lower. If you have a different opinion, let me know.
