Located in the Shops of Olde Marco, Petit Soleil (french for the little sun) offers French and American breakfast and lunch service. Breakfast is served Tuesday through Sunday starting at 8 a.m. with lunch service offered until 2:00 p.m. The restaurant is closed on Monday.
The European side of the menu pays homage to European favorites, including butter croissants, waffles, and macarons. The “Petit Soleil Special” screams authenticity with an espresso coffee, a toasted mini-baguette, and Bonne Maman jam.
Guests who prefer American style breakfast have plenty to choose from, including steak and eggs or a selection of omelets.
Petit Soleil is famous for presenting a classic American burger with a French twist. The “Americain” burger consists of in-house ground beef patties on a baguette and topped with Roquefort (sheep milk cheese from the south of France) sauce. Other lunch options include a quiche which is known to sell out at the Marco Island Farmer’s Market.
Guests can eat inside or soak in the sun in the outdoor terrace while enjoying the picturesque and colourful alley filled with shops.
Multiple review sites highlight the location is off beaten path but well worth the journey to visit this cute little “hidden gem.”
The Sun King loves Petit Soleil. The breakfast here is really special and many consider it to be the best breakfast on Marco Island. The Old Marco shops are quaint and make for a unique atmosphere. Don’t miss Petit Soleil.
